Where can i find video instructions about refilling toner cartridges or extensive documentation about that?

There are plenty of instructions on the web and three or four web sites devoted to just this issue, however, I have to wonder why you want to do this.


Let me tell you a couple of issues you will face.





#1 Toner cartidges have many components, all of which have a rather short life cycle. All of these need to be serviced and or replaced to properly 'refill' a toner cartridge. The Photo-conductive drum, the waste bin, the wiper blade, the primary charge roller, the electrical contacts for the PCR, the Toner Bin, the magnetic roller that draws toner from the toner bin, the electrical contacts of said roller and the metering or doctor blade that meters the toner pulled out of the toner bin. All of these parts need to be removed cleaned properly wich includes but is not limited to vacuuming each part and putting them all back together.





#2 There is still toner in the cartridge that will need to be vacuumed out, you cannot do it with a normal household vacuum or it will at least blow toner dust all over the area and at worse eat up the vacuum motor.





Oh, one final note, if you do something wrong, like not properly clean the waste toner bin, or improperly replace the wiper blade or miss seat the contacts on the magnetic roller or improperly gap the doctor blade or not place every gear removed back properly,... The refilled cartridge could seize up, lock down and cause major damage to your printer before it even prints a single page.





BEWARE of attempting this on your own. If you are tired of giving the OEM guys WAY TOO much money for ';New'; cartridges, buy one from a remanufacturing company. Ask them questions before you buy and find out if every cartridge is print tested after rebuilding, and remember it is not refilling that you EVER want to do or have done, it is REBUILDING or REMANUFACTURING.

To have the best results you need to professionally remanufacture a toner cartridge (change all parts such as drums, blades, rollers, toner etc). On average however these parts will last another 1 life cycle, giving you about a 10% decrease in quality and page yield each subsequent cycle. Report Abuse

Try a magazine called Smart Computing. They just had an extensive article on this subject. You can get some info on their website www.smartcomputing.com. If you have a subscription, you can download great information. Even if you don't, I believe you still might be able to find helpful info. Good luck.
