There's a lot more to it than plunking toner in. There are parts that need to be replaced (their lifespan is approximately one cycle of toner; drum, blade, chip).

If you want to save money, buy a quality remanufactured cartridge. Filling an inkjet cartridge is one thing, but filling your own toner cartridge is totally different.

BTW, your machine also takes a 49X high yield cartridge. I recommend that one: you get two-and-a-half times the toner, without paying two-and-a-half times the price. How can i refill HP Laserjet 1320 Black Toner cartridge 49A?
Actually it is now quite easy. Just purchase a refill kit from rechargex.com and you can do this twice. Save $$$$$$$$ Report Abuse

You go to the computer store and purchase a new ink cartage, Accidents with a nice printer is not worth cutting corners.
Note that refilling the toner is only half the story. By simply refilling the area containing the toner you are allowing the ';toner reserve receptacle'; to fill with additional leftover toner from print jobs. When this receptacle is filled the toner will spill out and will make your unit dirty, to say the least.
You need to purchase a refill kit, it come with instruction and the correct toner powder, you save half the cost and may get more output than the original, maybe not as black but should be acceptable. You need to punch a hole and fill the toner, then seal back with a tape. Be careful, not all toner powder are the same, buy the kit and you wouldn't go wrong. Depend on which country you are in, should be able to search supplier.
