Some can be refilled easy and other are very difficult. It is best to use original cartridges because they are less likely to 'fail' Refills tend not to last as long, the toner supplied for refills is more grey than black and when they fail they usually leak toner into your printer. Toner is carcinogenic (causes cancer) when inhaled or absorbed through your skin, so it is best not to risk it. Refilling your printer with non original toner will automatically void your warranty.
